Bio Nova seeks to develop new products based on its tissue engineering technology.

Bio Nova’s tissue-engineering process allows almost unlimited design flexibility in terms of both the material and the three dimensional form. Methods have been developed to safely transplant the structures into humans. By careful control of the tissue building processes, Bio Nova is able to tailor the properties and architecture of its engineered tissues to meet specific medical applications.

Bio Nova has also developed methods to grow a variety of human cells on its tissue scaffolds prior to implant into the patient. The result is a range of unique biomaterials that cannot be produced by any other method and which provide many of the desired matrix properties now being sought in the burgeoning field of tissue engineering.

Key projects include the development of a Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) and an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) prosthesis. Other potential projects are outlined in the following table:
